Peoria Triathlon Club

Swim Practice

Being a member of the Peoria Triathlon Club has benefits. One of the benefits coming again this winter is Swim Lessons with Coach Lefty at Five Points gym in Washington Illinois. These will start again in January 2012!

Open Water Swims

Each Wednesday and Thursday evening, the Peoria Triathlon Club has open water swims at Wild Life Prairie Park. For more information about these swims, please contact us as it does vary by attendance. (Two or more people must be in attendance for there to be an open water swim practice.)

Cycling

We do enjoy riding as a group on weekends. Join the club to find out different roads in Central Illinois you may not have known existed!

The Peoria Bicycle Club and the Illinois Valley Wheelm'n have weekly rides as well.

Running

The Illinois Valley Striders will be starting their Building Steam and Team Steam weekly running in April.

I am a Triathlete

I am a triathlete. I hurt myself for fun. I push myself harder and farther and faster than most people would ever dream of going. It is part of who I am. I swim. I bike. I run. I keep track of my weight, my heart rate, my blood pressure, and my body fat. My body is a machine, and I must respect the fact that the machine has its limits. But the race is about going beyond those limits. It's about pushing the machine to do things it wasn't necessarily designed to do. Today I start training for the next race. I start punishing my body until it submits willingly to the pain.
Today I start pushing myself to see just what my limits really are...
